Here is an easy and smooth to use sewing fiberglass flexible measuring tape. This is for 3 m (10 feet) long and 2 cm ( .79 inch) width tape.
At this time, assembly is made with small countersink screws. It may probably possible to modify the design to use glue, or even snap fit.
This model is design to be easy, secure and quick to reel the tape.
** UPDATE
I put new drum and housing with 2 mm larger diameter for ones who experience friction in the last winding turns.
