This is a remix of the snowman maker by CloudJ. Instead of a snowman this produces a replica of an ice cream cone, in snow (thus snow cone :). I usually scale this to 50%.
I was amazed at how well the original concept by CloudJ was able to produce objects in snow so I wanted to try an object which had some finer details to see how it would fair. In addition to a different object being produced I made some other changes to improve on the original concept. Instead of using pegs and peg holes I use spheres and sphere indentations which increases the durability of the print and also prevents snow from clogging the peg holes. By using a symmetrical design instead of the original which had two distinct parts this design uses a single piece which is printed twice. By keeping the mold open in the bottom you are able to pack snow into the closed mold producing a stronger object.
