This model originally came about because I wanted to create a small fort around some roman barracks that I had seen close to where I live. Each barracks structure was supposed to house a basic roman fighting unit. Again, everything is kept in 1:72 scale but the diorama that I eventually made (shown below) was of course in 1:144 scale and much smaller than what I had in mind, to the great relief of my wife and our two cats.
Once I got going, I wound up doing the walls first because those were easiest to design at the time (see my comment about brick size etc. in my castle post). Fora first-person walk-through of a virtual diorama please check out the following link: https://play.unity.com/mg/other/the_wall_3
The walls, watchtowers and gate here are basically the ones of my medieval castle, but with much larger crenellations.
Of my two dioramas - the digital one using these files, and the physical print-out, currently the printed-out one definitely wins. That is probably due to some nice resin-printed trees that were added in, even though those are unrealistic (dont think any self respecting commander would have left these standing within a hundred yards of the walls). Enjoy !
