Created this to reduce small hive beetles entering the hive. The main body is more difficult for them to fly into and the edge at the top is hard for them to crawl under. This is made to fit over the slit entrances on my Layens hives and will also fit over round entrances. There are panels you can slide behind the main body to block access, vent the opening, reduce the opening for winter, and I also added a queen excluder opening that is not in the picture. So far it is working well.
