Skully doesn't know Eggy. They've never even met, so stop asking. Skully only needs one eye to keep a lookout on you. Roll it with your thumb or whatever. Skully thinks your thumbs are the fanciest ones around!
Supports are needed for the Shell. No supports needed for the ball. Pegs are included for alignment. The peg fit may need some fiddling/sanding.
If you scale it up enough, I bet you could fit a basketball in it.
