I made this model because I have a number of smaller filament samples that are just loose coils and I wanted to put them on spools, but not take up a full-size spool for each color.
This spool is about half the width (or a little less) than a standard 1kg size spool, so I can have two different colors in the same amount of space as one would normally take up.
There is a center over-lapping lip that can easily be hot-glued or super-glued to assemble it.
I added a center ring for extra strength and to make the filament wind not so small. I just used hot glue on some of the points where it touches the top wheel.
