My fiance and I recently bought a house and were looking for window coverings for a few months before we decided to just make our own for much cheaper! She sewed the curtains, utilizing a huge sale and some coupons at Joanns. We decided that the price of curtain rods were also ridiculous, so I quickly modeled up some rod ends and hooks to fit some 1 inch dowels from Home Depot. What would have cost us close to $200 in pre-made curtain rods at Walmart, we made for a little under $20, including paint!
