Summary

This is my remix of the famous Headphone Stand. However, I intended my remix to be used as a sign stand, sign holder, or sign hanger, rather than as a headphone stand (though it could probably serve as both... see modifications below).

I needed something to serve in place of an easel to hold up a sign I 3D printed for a business (Stately Ceramics, in case you were wondering). Unlike an easel though, I wanted my sign to rest either vertically or even slightly forward-leaning. (Just not backward-leaning, like something in an easel rests.)

Here is the complete list of changes I made to the original:

  • Made a slice off of the bottom to remove an unwanted logo and give a perfectly flat surface to align to print bed
  • Made a slice on each vertical arm to create a perfectly flat surface to align to print bed
  • Added a drop-down face to the top of the hanger onto which a command strip could be affixed.

I've added two different GCODE files:

  1. My remix, in the standard dimensions, aligned for strong printing, and
  2. My remix, scaled to 75% in both X and Y, but full Z height; aligned for minimal supports.
Note: I created both my GCODEs for use with my IDEX printer so that my supported were printed in a different color of filament than the body. I do not know if this will cause any issue if you try to use this GCODE on a single-extruder printer. If you know, please comment the answer!

The second option prints noticeably faster, and was still strong enough for my needs (see photos).
