I've updated the geometry to be smoother and stronger. I've uploaded the new top as a single piece and as two pieces. I've found printing it as two pieces worked best, but you have to be patient. Let the top cool completely after it prints before removing it. Then, do not hit it with a heat gun to remove stringing until the pieces are joined and be very careful then.
To join the pieces, glue one set of arms at a time. Make sure all the arms are aligned precisely when you glue each set. I found using super thin CA worked well. Once most of the arms are glued, you won't be able to pry the remaining arms apart far, but you can slide a hobby knife blade between them. With super thin CA, that's al you need. Add a drop of glue, align the arms, pinch them together, add a drop of kicker to the edge.
I print with a brim (outside only) to keep the supports from peeling up from the bed.
