Summary

I wanted a svelte bracket to mount my light along the back wall of my rimless aquarium. The light I have in this area is shorter than my overall tank width, so I investigated other options like suspending the light or printing side extension elements. The long light bar is a Finnex Planted Plus True 24/7 + HLC Aquarium LED, 30" (HCL-30).

After iterating through a few designs, I am happy with this bracket.

It's printed on the side so does not need supports and layers are perpendicular to the joint forces for strength. The rails along the light slide right on to the T-shaped areas of the bracket, so no danger of the light getting bumped out when I'm aquascaping. The fit is snug just to make sure nothing wiggles. I chose to put 3 brackets on my light, but it's such a light bar that 2 would be sufficient.

Hope this helps someone else out, too :)

PS: the tan color in the water are tannins from the new wood I placed recently. Fish, shrimpies, and plants all seem happy and healthy, and the tank has been cycled.
