Summary

The release tab on the extension wand (Shark Part #160FFJ) of our Shark Navigator NV356E Upright Vacuum recently broke which didn't allow for the vacuum to be without wrapping the extension cord around the extension wand once or twice.

I removed the tab easily with a flat head screw driver to pop up the plastic cover and modeled it on TinkerCAD. The first print eventually broke within the first second of use, so I ended up modifying the design a bit for strength and so far so good. It's definitely stronger than before, but I I did notice that you would need to push the tab in even putting the extension wand back to the floor brush base.

I'm sharing the STL file because these tabs unfortunately are not sold separately. I hope it helps someone else.

I don't think this tab will work with any other portion of the vacuum, as I check the main handle hose and that tab was different than this one. Should be compatible with most Shark Navigator Lift-Away Vacuums NV356E, NV356, NV355, NV355C, NV357, NV358, NV370; however, consult Shark's customer support.
