Summary

This is a pointer needle that attaches to a servo motor to act as a gauge or meter indicator. It is intended for electronics projects or experiments, like with Arduino or Raspberry Pi sensor indicators, where the servo acts as an analog visual indicator of fill level, temperature, position, or any other indication of a sensor value reading.

This needle is designed and sized for the ever-popular Tower Pro Micro Servo 9g (SG90). I imagine it could be scaled for other servo horn sizes.

The needle has an recess on the bottom for the single-arm horn from the servo. The needle can be glued onto the horn with a spot of super-glue or hot glue, etc. There are two versions included here, one that completely covers the servo horn, and one that has a hole to allow the horn's screw to be installed onto the horn after mounting the glued assembly onto the servo.

I print this without supports, and most prints are fine. Your printer must be able to bridge a gap (the servo horn recess) to print without supports.

The source FreeCAD files (.FCStd) are included, in case you want to modify anything.
