I needed a proportionally controlled water valve for a project I am building. This design was inspired by http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:20661 - Thank you!
I used an off-the-shelf 1/4" female NPT valve from Lowes, item #369194. The valve action is pretty stiff so I opted for a hi-torque (200+ oz-in) Savox IP67 waterproof servo.
The screws are 6-32 1-1/2" for the valve shell and 6-32 3/4" for the servo/base mount. I had to use 1/4" head nuts on the lower two shell screws because I did not leave enough clearance between the screws and the side of the servo, oops...
If you can find the same valve then you can use the .stl files to make your own assembly. Otherwise, if you are good with OpenSCAD, you can tinker with the .scad files and roll your own. Make sure you download the MCAD library so you can render the gears. The details of the servo are in the savox_ip67_servo.scad file and the valve details are in the am_valve_14NPT.scad file.
