The file 'Self Watering Plant Pot With Moisture Measurement 3D Printer Model' is (STL) file type, size is 341.3KB.
This is a self watering plant pot with an integrated water tank and tube system. It will measure through a capacitive soil moisture sensor the current moisture level and decides when to activate the pump by a relay. You just need to fill up the water tank and safe a lot of waterings plus your plants will get the perfect soil moisture every time. This pot is ideal for basil and other herbs, but also room plants.
In order to get the print water resistant you need to use PETG over PLA! This is extremly important. I use the KEHUASHINA PETG Marble Filament, but you can use every PETG filament.
*all product links are also affiliate links to the same products I bought for the system. If you order via the link, I will receive a tiny commission.
You need to connect the Arduino with the relay and the relay with the pump. The cables of the pump and soil moisture sensor needs to be thread through the cable pipe (see image 2). Then you need to connect the cables of the soil moisture sensor with the Arduino. You can find a good example for the code and wiring on this webside. After assembling, you sould also seal the cable tube with some plasticine or other materials. This step is just for security measures if you come over the filling limit.
If your plant pot is not waterproof, you may need to higher up the layer thickness and ensure using PETG. You could also force a little bit of overextruding in order to tighten up the lines. You should not need support for any parts.
