The file 'Seestar S50 – Light & Dew Shield 3D Printer Model' is (stl) file type, size is 281.9KB.
After exploring various designs, I noticed that existing options didn't quite align as needed. Taking matters into my own hands, I crafted a bespoke Light & Dew Shield using Fusion 360—a creation I'm excited to share with the community.
The shield serves a multifaceted purpose, acting as a guardian against stray lights infiltrating the Seestar and introducing unwanted noise to the sensor. It effectively blocks lateral or ground lights, such as those emanating from nearby street lamps, and plays a crucial role in preventing dew formation on the front lens.
However, a word of caution: remember to remove the shield before packing up your Seestar. I won't be held responsible for any damage caused if this step is overlooked!
Having successfully printed this design multiple times for friends using an X1 Carbon, I can attest to its perfect fit. If your printer lacks precise alignment, a slight scaling adjustment may be necessary.
Feel free to utilize and share this creation, please give a shout out and credit to @PixelatedDad if you incorporate this solution into your own astronomy setup. Happy stargazing! 😊
