I use this box for seeds that need cold stratification. I place paper towel in the troughs and then seeds on top. The bottom drain allows water to drain from paper while keeping moisture on the seeds. You can add water by pour into bowl in lid. Wholes will drip onto the paper towel and drain into the trough below so they don't stand in water.
