Cheap safety latch for door that can be picked up at Walmart. Design of latch works on doors which have flat surfaces that are level with each other - this does not work well when you have molding around door frame.
Won't keep out someone intending on breaking in but will slow them down and slow kids from opening doors and going out when they are not suppose to.
You can resize for other brands of latches or increase the height to fit your needs..
