UPDATE: Sculpfun seems to have changed the build-plate/honeycomb they issue with newer machines. The new honeycomb is 450mm x 450mm instead of the old 400x400mm version. I have modified the "feet" components and uploaded them here as an alternate for the larger honeycombs.
A complete enclosure-system designed to work directly with my support-system. I am aware that there are those already printing my support system and don't want anyone to waste filament on the support "feet" components if they intend to print the entire enclosure also, which includes new "feet" components so be mindful that the new fee-components are included in this enclosure-system but not in the support-system.
This enclosure is designed for use with 5mm plexiglass/acrylic though there are many options and variations with other materials that would work with this system as described in the manual (included for download).
This assembly includes the new "feet", the corner pillars and caps which tie-together and support the enclosure walls, a fume venting assembly and outdoor ducting assembly. The ducting is intended to have an in-line duct fan system. The enclosure and outdoor ducting are designed as a magnetic quick-connect setup for easy connection and disconnection. The enclosure includes a set of recessed handles making it easy to remove the enclosure which sits recessed into the new "feet" component slots. In general, all is designed for quick placement and removal while accomplishing the simple task of the removal of smoke vapors produced while the laser-cut/engraving is accomplished. See the downloadable manual for further clarification.
Additionally, a new center support for the build-plate has been added to reduce the sagging of the metal plate placed under the build-plate/honeycomb. This is no more than a build-plate-support "foot" with a new flat top component.
Also, some new "keepers" have been added with this system though they are not entirely necessary to print. These only keep the support components together more aesthetically and the original system "keepers" work the same in combination (see my support system for further clarification.)
Full assembly and print instructions are provided to make this an easy production. Download the PDF manual provided here for further instructions and more clarification of the entire process.
I have completed printing and assembling my own version of this support and enclosure system. I have made some changes to some of the parts and uploaded them here. I have also been able to make many additions to the manual (provided in the downloads) with some tips and recommendations to aid in building this system with minimal difficulty. While the manual may make this look difficult at first glance, it actually only took me a couple of hours (due to epoxy curing etc.) and is fairly easy to make work as designed.
