Summary

I recently needed a cutting mat for on my workbench. So I started designing and this is what I came up with. This model can be scaled to any size you want your cutting mat to be. All the features included in the model will automatically change when you change the equations file. There also a lot of options for customizing your cutting mat.

This scalable cutting mat is the first ever made.

Please note that the model has a lot of patterns and equations which tend to make it a little slow when rebuilding. I recommend, when changing the model, to change the equations file first. Then start up the file and go do something else for a couple of minutes.

Scaling
The model needs to be scaled using the equations file. When you decide to change the model you will need to make a new drawing. A good tutorial for that is found here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=hZrGLonrpt8&t=191s

Converting
A handy tip for converting the drawings to Adobe Illustrator is to change the border colors to blue, since there are a lot of border lines within the cutting mat. In SOLIDWORKS go to System options/colors/visible model edges. You can also use Inkscape for editing the drawings.

I currently haven't made it yet but I will upload photos as soon as I made it. When you decide to make one please send me a photo. I would love to see it made.

When there is something wrong with the model please let me know so I can fix it as soon as possible.
