UPDATE: 20240816

• Field tested with dollar tree broomstick. Huge success!!
• Extremely effective as a tree pole saw with 10 TPI wood jigsaw blade.
• On a dollar tree broomstick, it is light to maneuver compare to a "proper" tree pruning pole saw.
• The skinny jigsaw blade can get into tricky spots a "proper" tree pruning pole saw cannot.

File changes:

• Dependency broom-join-female-v2.scad is updated to support parameterized hexagonal sleeve radius.
• Two new STLs: (1) An angled pole saw version. (2) Different width for the "male" part of the fitting for Harbor Freight painters extension pole.
• The Angled pole saw version is good on paper, but in practice I find the "straight" version easier to use when sawing since you only move the pole linearly along the broomstick's axis to saw.
• The harbor frieight painters pole version is not yet tested. Will be tested in the upcoming weeks.

Combine t-shank jigsaw handler and broomstick connector and voila, poor man's manual pruning polesaw.

Files to print:

The rest of the files are dependencies. No need to print. Just have them in your directory if you like to remix the scad file.

Recommended to print with 4 walls or higher, 20% infill or higher. 0.02mm layer for best results. 0.03mm layer will work fine as well.

The scad files is configurable; mostly the sleeve length for reinforcing the broomstick connector. You will be applying torque as you saw. Longer length should provide more rigidity. Default is 50mm long.
