This design is based on my previous design of the swap head which I use now, but wanted to improve. Main goal of this project was to turn the head to the front of the printer, bring the motors to the back and reduce the stress on the motors shafts caused by the belt tension.
This project requires some mechanical skills.
Top plate are rotated by 180 degrees. Table moved to the front of the printer by 37 mm, I used the aluminum U profiles for that. X displacement of the head is reduced by 10 mm.
For the extruder please see https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4885031
Orbiter and Sherpa extruders are compatible.
BOM:
Brass tube with 5 mm OD (or any other material)
10 pulleys without teeth
2 pulleys with teeth
Belt length is longer than the original, new belt may be needed
M3 thread insert max. length 6 mm
M4 T nuts for the 20x20 aluminum profile
Many different screws
Number of the parts needed is indicated in the name of the parts, if nothing it means 1 part, "mirror" means that the second part should be mirrored in the slicer.
Almost no supports are needed.
Remove sacrificial layers after printing.
More detailed instructions and assemblies will/can be provided in the future if needed.
Any questions/suggestions are always welcome
