Summary

I have had my Ryobi P738 hand held inflator/deflator for a while now and one of the aggravating things I experienced was that the stock nozzle was too wide in order to inflate/deflate smaller objects.

In the photos you will see a beach ball as an example. The inflation port was way too narrow in order to fit the stock inflator nozzle. The stock inflator nozzle was 7.3 mm. I decided to do something about this by making a narrow nozzle.

The new inflator nozzle is 5.5 mm. The new nozzle also tapers wider about 15 mm down from the tip (back to 7.3 mm) so it will still work on inflatables with slightly larger air ports. The tip is 5.5 mm wide for 15 mm before it tapers back to 7.3 mm. This was to ensure it was long enough in order to push the inflator valve flap back so air can pass freely into the object you are trying to inflate.

I took care to ensure that the new inflator nozzle is shaped just right so it fits into the existing slot at the base of the tool (as seen in the attached pictures). I will be disposing of the old inflator nozzle as I won't have a need for it anymore.

The new nozzle was printed pink as it was the last prototype that I created. I will be printing in black or close to "Ryobi Green" in a bit.

Update July 5, 2024 - Added a new nozzle for the PCL031 inflator. This nozzle is 3 mm shorter which allows it to fit into the holder on the back of the unit. Unfortunately, this nozzle will fit properly on the hand held unit as the shape is different.
