Summary

First, this thing is inspired by https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L-TO0nui0pc&t=

use some sandpaper to finish
perhaps you have to scrape some ABS with a knife at the recess for a tight fit
cut a M5 thread in the hole at the part without the 1mm recess
some black spraypaint
with a strong ABS glue, bond the two parts together (line up the holes with a set screw)
I used a set screw from an old miter saw (15mm in my case, 20mm max.)

Be careful when tightening the screw. Its only a plastic thread!!!

EDIT:
I add 2 thumbscrew´s (M5 Imbus and countersunk). You can glue it in place with epoxy or fix it with a nut.
Also I add another version of the ruler stop. Now you can insert an M5 nut.
