Summary

Many of the tools we use for 3D printing are long and slender of different sizes. To organize them and make them easily accessible is a sensible thing, but I haven't found one that was versatile enough for my needs, so this is a design of my own. This one holds quite a few common tools I use for 3D printing and prototype-making in a compact and easy to access caddy. Prints without supports and no brim needed.

Let me know what you'd like to improve on it and I'll consider making the changes.

Key benefits:

  1. Longer tools are stored closer to the center, to maximize visibility of the shorter ones at the perimeter.
  2. Rotates to give you access to different tools.

Other things you'll need:

  1. 6mm ball bearings, quantity 12. You can find quite a few selections on Amazon inexpensively. You can try to use 6 bearings (every other spot) if you'd like.
  2. One M3x8 screw.

Other notes:
I used heat shrink tubing to color code the handles of my X-acto blades to easily identify which is which (each has different blades).

Here's a video of it assembled and loaded with all the tools shown here. And there's still room for more... :-)
