Summary

All components are designed to print without support material and the modular components are all stackable, so you can mix and match as needed. The basis of the design is a base with planetary bearing that print in place, so the all the components on the platter rotate. perfect for when space is at a permium!

Three basic categories of parts: Base, Platter, and Modular components (And also a footing that is intended to be printed in TPU or another flexible material to increase the friction with the surface the organizer is on so the base will be less likely to rotate)

Base

  1. Tight-tolerance
  2. Loose-tolerance

Print the base "upside down" and you will not need supports. The base works fine with .2mm layer height and 20% infill, but if you are going to go with higher resolution or infill, I would do it on this one to make the interface as clean as possible and give it a little more heft. If you have a real nice printer, the tighter tolerance should be good recommend. If that doesn't move smoothly give the loose-tolerance version a try.

Platter

  1. HIdden Bearings
  2. Visible Bearings

Print the platter "upside down" and you will not need supports. Option 1 is for people who don't care about the inner workings and would prefer a slimmer profile for the bearing/platter combo. If you appreciate the motion of the bearings as they spin around in the base and think it adds a little visual flare, the second option raises up the platter and opens things up a bit so the bearings are visible.

Modular Components

  1. Bins
    1. Half, 3/8th, Quarter. and 1/8th (rotational) sizes
    2. Each of those has a small, medium, and large version (30/60/90 mm tall walls, respectively)
  2. Lids
    1. Half, 3/8th, Quarter. and 1/8th (rotational) sizes
  3. Shelves
    1. Half, Quarter. and 1/8th (rotational) sizes
Print the shelves on thier sides and no support will be required
  4. Cellphone holder
    1. Made it to fit my phone, which is pretty large, but should work for pretty much any phone, and the charge port will be exposed so it can be plugged in
  5. Central Pen holder
  6. Hidden central bin
    1. This fits in the middle under the pen holder to create a little hidden area to put things.
  7. Post-it note holder

This is where you get to have some fun and pick whatever suits your needs. All of these pieces are stackable, so feel free to mix and match them however you want. They can also pop off and be used independently if you need to bring something away from your desk for a while. Mix up colors and materials as desired as well.

And, again, the TPU footing really makes the base grip the surface it is on a lot better. It fits nice and snug on the bottom of the base.

Coming Soon: Drawers (didn't have time to properly prototype these)
