Summary

Inspired by my Yakattack rotogrip paddle holder, I designed up my own printable version. This in no way replaces the absolutely bulletproof gear from Yakattack, but it was a way for me to store my paddles on my kayak storage rack. I highly encourage any kayakers to check out yakattack.us for some high quality kayak accessories. I'm not associated with them, but do love their products.

I printed this PETG for the base and Sainsmart TPU for the wheels (semiflex). The bolts are 4-40 x 1 1/2" (M3 x 40 should work too). Simply pass the bolt through the base and wheel and add a nylock nut to the other side. Leave the nut loose enough that the base doesn't flex in and prevent the wheel from turning freely.

Print the base on it's side with support material inside to maximum strength. A lot of outward force is generated when you place a paddle in the holder. The wheels on the first version of this where too hard and it sheared the base across the layer lines (no delamination), so that gives you an idea of how much force is generated.

Happy printed, happy paddling, and tight lines!
