Summary

These are bumpers to protect your "Hunger for Words" buttons from being run over and erased by your robot vacuum.

My Sister has this "Hunger for Words" set. These are buttons that sit in a mat on the floor and have a voice recorder. You record a word, like "outside" or "treat" on each button, and then your dog learns to press one of the buttons as their need arises. It's kinda like a reverse Pavlovian conditioning.

The problem is, as the Roomba is cleaning it just plows over the mat and activates the buttons. Sometimes it hits the "Record" button on the side which erases your spoken word and records garbage over it, causing your pets request to fall on deaf ears, and you having to re-record your message.

So I designed these bumpers to activate the Roomba's bump sensor and go around it.

It has helped to keep the same recording on the buttons for over 6 months so far.

If you have the up to 6 button mat, you'll need 3 of each. The mats are interlocking and can be added on for more "word" capacity, so just print more to fit the size of your mat.
