We loved using Colin Heron's Rode mic clip - thank you :-)
We had a spate of shoots where we had to mic up the guests fast, and some were wearing clothing without good lapels/edges to clip onto.
This frustration led me to try a magentised version and it works a charm.
I also added an extra piece to allow a double loop of the cable, so we can run it up or down the clothing easily.
Grab a couple of small (15mm x 5mm x 2.5mm) and a few drops of epoxy resin and add them to this remix and voila! Lapel mic attached in seconds with zero material friction.
The base with the embedded magnet gives the clip a nice sturdy surface to press against. Ensure you check polarity so that the magnet on the base is closest to the person.
