Summary

This is my rendition of a simple rock tumbler. Inspired by onkelgeorg's Affordable Rock Tumbler. The following axle can be located in one of several positions to accommodate a wider variety of tumbler sizes. I have been using an empty paint can with a few ribs glued inside to encourage tumbling. Wrapping the can with some grippy draw liner material keeps the can from slipping on the tumbler's rollers. While I scavanged rollers from an old printer/scanner/fax machine to attach to the axels, I have included some that can be printed out. Included are one flat roller and one with an extra lip on one end to keep your tumbler from walking from one side or the other while spinning.

This is a sturdy tumbler. I have been using it for several weeks now with no issues or sign of excessive wear. I have tumbled as much as 5 lbs. of material with no sign of fatigue or strain from the drivetrain.
