UPDATE 11/5/24: Apologies once again, but it after reviewing the original model once more I realized the shoulder ballsockets on the torso were the wrong size leading to loose shoulders that stuck out too far. I have fixed this.
So I was working on my next figure that uses the same conceptual skeleton of my Robot Hero figure. However, I was never happy with how the thighs and the upper arm looked with the flat end. So, I decided to put together a new system for the elbows and knees to allow for a "cap" of sorts that rounds out the limbs a little more. Still not perfect, but a lot better than before in my opinion. From this, I hope to make some more figures with less robotic aspects.
The Robot Hero figure was designed with a focus on simplicity, durability, and ease of printing.
Joints are achieved through a system of 3mm pins that give just enough friction while also easily removed with pliers (for maximum strength, print these so that the long side of the pin is parallel to the build plate).
I hope you enjoy. Please send feedback as I may create improved versions of the figure in the future.
Depending on your printer and plastic, some light sanding and/or tightening of parts may be required. Tightening may be done via thin layers of super glue or multi-surface floor polish.
