Also known as a binder, this connector sits on the back of the dash cluster.
It holds the cluster foil in place and is used to connect the cluster foil to the car wiring via an edge connector.

As the OEM version design tabs break-off easily, this has been redesigned to connect using the two screws adjacent to the the tab inserts.

Note: This connector is designed to work with the Scirocco, Rabbit, Golf, Polo MK1 and will work with the VDO and MotoMeter 14 pin cluster connectors.
