Summary

This is a remix of the E3D Fan mount upgrade for CR10 V3 Printer by michaelfordltd2.

I have had buyers remorse ever since I purchased the V3 many years ago, recently the head gummed up on the official carrier and I decided to overhaul the printer. It is much improved after replacement springs adjustment knobs, a new extruder, this fan carrier, capricorn bowden and installation of Klipper & tuning. I have also included the designs for ADXL345 accelerometer gyroscope mounts in various locations as the final stage in the refurb is to perform input shaping.

The Remix:

I have skimmed part of the original E3D fan mount away so that the carrier can be easily slid on off the print head without snapping for ease of maintainence - the original version requires removal of the heat block to slide on off I guess. I changed the design because the orginal I printed snapped when trying to remove it from the printhead after a jam. I recommend using a heat resistant material such as PETG or PETG CF and using a fill of 100% for most parts (the fan mount may need a bit of flexion so 20 - 25% would be best). Original bolts may be used; but I had a ton of M2.5 bolts lying around. It's easier to superglue the M2.5 nuts on the other side of the fan mount before attaching to the printer.

As the both the original and revised E3D fan mount are prone to slight movement, it is not really suitable for fitting of an accelerometer / gyroscope. I have designed a clamp to fit on the open side of the heatsink and this can be fitted as you slide the bolt in to secure it. The included version is also an accelerometer mount allowing you to put one at least close to the print head! Hopefully this gives this more of a snug fit. It may need to be trimmed to allow the mount to "squeeze" the heatsink more as the bolt is tightened and / or allow more airflow if required.

Each ADXL345 mount requires 2xM2.5 bolts to secure the accelerometer (1mm) which screw directly into the mount.

ADXL345 Mounts:
Input Shaping Mount - CLtouch (Designed to fit on top of the cl-touch mount; secured to existing protruding bolts via 2xM3 nuts).
Input Shaping Mount - 40mm Fan (Designed to allow mounting both proud and flush to any 40mm fan)
Input shaping mount - Heatsink clamp - Clamps on to the heatsink on the extruder in tandem with the fan mount.
Input Shaping Mount - Revised C-Clamp (Designed to clamp to the bed; requires 1xM2.5 screw of a decent length; 1 or 2 washers (no bigger than 9mm in diameter) and 1 x m2.5 nut. You do not need to remove the print bed, no metal contacts any part of the printer. *Note: This clamp could be modified by making the legs longer to allow it to be attached to the print head and provide more accurate input shaping.
