My High School friend Bill loves 57' Chevys. He's had one since High School. He collects the cast aluminum License Plate toppers from the 1950's. He's always wanted one from Long Island. He was up visiting for my birthday and my neighbor's cousin showed up with his hot rod for the Saratoga Car Show. He had the LI plate topper! I didn't have my Revopoint 3D Scanner with me, but I grabbed a quick photo. I used the imagetostl.com website to convert the photo into a quasi 3D model. I was able to load this into the Geomagic DesignX CAD software and sketch out the plate topper. After waiting for over a year for my new Prusa XL 3D Printer, it arrived just in time. It's a large area, five color printer. The plate topper came out nice!
