I couldn't bring myself to use the OEM wobbly pair of ball links (see extract from RC4WD instructions) for the gear shift so I came up with a better mousetrap. What they show in the manual is ridiculous given that shifting only requires about 8mm of linear travel, they could at least mention that you'll need to cut the movement back at the Tx otherwise beginners are just going to burn up servos! I found a small servo saver and drilled a new hole nearer the centre then designed and 3D printed a hinged link. Servo wiring isn't tied back yet as I may well fit a 17g servo instead of a full size one.
I've included a dimensioned drawing as I custom designed it for my particular installation using the AliExpress servo saver listed below, I machined off the raised section and drilled and tapped a new hole closer to the centre. If you need a new .stl with some other dimension let me know either here or on FaceBook and I've included the SolidWorks file and a .step file if you want to edit it.
