This is a replacement bracket for a Regalo 192-Inch Super Wide Adjustable Baby Gate and Play Yard. Why would you need one? Well I use the baby gate to fence in a 90 lbs black lab.
He loves to put his front legs on the gate and stare at us eating dinner. Naturally, the gate system isn't designed for this, so every few month one of the brackets for the hinge joint breaks.
I ran out of spare brackets, so armed with a printer and a plan I designed my own. I printed it in Grey resin, just to make it easier to explain. Please see the enclosed picture, showing what the bracket looks like before my dog breaks it, what it looks like when broken and finally what my replacement design looks like. In future, I will print them in white to blend into the gate system.
If you are going to print this on a FDM, you might try carbon fiber. And on that FDM, I would also print it with the long axis parallel to the bed for more strength.
I have found Siraya Tech Blu Nylon 3D Printer Resin works well, i just spray paint it white.
8/19/2024 - I have a new design that includes the underlying teethed sprocket; V5. I find this is a superior design. Combined with printing in Siraya Tech Blu Nylon, it appears to hold up much better then the Manufacturer's original design.
