I'd recommend printing in PETG at least, although around 30% of my initial testing was done with PLA and didn't notice any issues.

Updated 03/06/24: Added arms for the StealthBurner and Xol toolheads to offset the bed correctly.

Updated 31/05/24: Updated the Klipper setup instructions to include the aux fans wiring.

Updated 25/03/24: Updated the Klipper setup instructions.

Updated 04/04/24: Updated the Klipper setup instructions to include the setup for the optional auxiliary fans.

Key Points:

  • Sturdier design.
  • Greatly improves bed rigidity.
  • Triple Z.
  • True 3 point bed levelling using GE4C bearings with Z tilt.
  • Stabalised lead screws with 608ZZ bearings.
  • Adjustable 12032 dual aux ducts and mounting (GDStime fans).
  • The X, Y gantry and motion system remains unchanged.
  • Compatible with stock belt tensioners or my mod here.
  • Tested design (over 250+ hours printing).
  • Fully reversable to stock (If you want to).

Required Hardware:

M3:

  • 9x M3 spring nuts.
  • 10X M3 heat inserts.
  • 9x M3 x 6mm button head (for securing the GE4C bearings).
  • 27x M3 x 8mm socket head.
  • 10x M3 x 10mm socket head.

M4:

  • 4x M4 x 12mm countersunk head.
  • 3x M4 x 22mm countersunk head (or longer).
  • 2x M4 x 33mm countersunk head (or longer).
  • 7x M4 x 8mm hex spacers.
  • 5x M4 nyloc nuts.

M5:

  • 36x M5 spring nuts.
  • 30x M5 8mm button head.
  • 1x M5 10mm socket head (for securing rear 2020 extrusion).
  • 8x M5 20mm button head.

Other hardware

Early test vid of the 3 point levelling:

Early test vid printing a 11 min benchy without 12032 aux fans:

(20k accel, 15k accel on outer walls and 1k accel on first layer. Speeds range from 300 to 450)

Make sure you read “RenderXY - Fixings List.PDF” and “RenderXY - Printed Parts List.PDF” before getting started, they will list the required hardware and printed parts.

You can then move onto “RenderXY - Installation.PDF” for the installation process.

The step file is available if anyone wants to remix a part.

(I will most likely be updating the rear motor mount (to allow the 2020 to soak some of the heat) in the future but it has proven to work well so far).
