I purchased a toilet paper holder like this a few years ago on amazon. It was made of molded plastic and cost $35. Unfortunately it was a bit too small and large XL rolls like the Costco TP would not fit and certainly could not roll freely until the first 1/5th or so of the roll got used up. So I recreated it but at a size that I'm hoping will accommodate all the double / mega / huge sized rolls most of us are buying today.
I printed it in 2 parts to avoid needing supports and they fit very snuggly together to the point where I don't think glue is necessary but recommended. I also created small channels to assist with directing the spool into the holes which was another big downside I learned to the model I purchases online as the spool just kind of slipped around until you got it perfectly lined up. Works with your standard springing spool you probably already have, and designed to fit within the cavity of a 2x4" stud wall.
