The file 'Rear View Mirror Back Plate Panel For Original Mount Ball With Car DVR Instead Of Strap 3D Printer Model' is (stl,f3z) file type, size is 4.8MB.
I gifted my brother a dash cam that initially strapped over your rear-view mirror. After a short while, the mirror started to sag so I designed a fix using the original ball mount from his car.
The car is a 2013 Scion Xb and the mirror Murakami 7225 mirror.
Since the bracket from the original mirror can't fit the already completed ball socket screw I had to split it in 2 parts and secure it with an outer sleeve. I also had to cut off the small extrusion on the existing ball mount and sanded the area down.
This specific bracket will ONLY work if your mirror mounted dashcam has an exact spacing of 14.5 cm x 6 cm (145 mm x 60 mm) It was inspired by a part off of the jungle site.
I was low on filament so I printed the entire thing out of PLA+ and made the screw reinforcement ring out of PETG.
Due to the nature of the print, I unfortunately had to use a support and printed the hidden and mostly flat part with the supports.
Since the ball joint was made by DieZopfe, just for sharing I'll also include the fusion 360 f3d file. I have only used fusion 360 by feel and haven't read or really trained in it so the f3d will not be nearly as good as the one that I used.
