Summary

I tried a few designs others had made, in end I found them all lacking.
These will print without support needed...since I find supports annoying. And can have rubber pads glued to them for additional traction.
these tracks printed 100% will be 75mm wide 15.5mm tall and 30mm long each. They are designed to use a single 3mm pin to hold each link together. I will be adding the sprocket as soon as it finishes print and I can prove it works like I want it too....idlers and suspension to come as I complete and test each. Drive sprockets will be designed around Traxxas Tmaxx 14mm hex drives for simplicity. Posted in .stl format

I will add parts as designed 1 every day or two, unless life gets in the way...had to design and print rc car temporary spare A-arms for 7 yr olds rc car that broke last night
if someone needs wider or narrower tracks and is using repetier for printing they should with careful thought be able to scale these to suit. bigger and wider always easier when scaling parts.
not entirely sure I like current idler design.... working up a different option that may be better all around and more compact....suggest you wait for it. NEW DESIGN OUT

Pics of idler system posted...I know funny colors....
almost ready to release fully functional idler assembly. I opted for a cartridge style system so that each pair idlers is supported by a mount, arm, shock/coil spring, and brace. this can neatly be screwed or attached by other means to your chassis. I will make a suspension free bracket as well for those who don't want the complexity of suspension. Currently I am using hobbyking 1/16 scale oil filled shocks...will be getting the aluminum ones soon for my son's buggy so I will have freebie plastic ones so to speak. I apologize for the time between released parts...but I really want this to be trouble free for you guys... especially since not all people who print 3d also design their own stuff.
have a nice night....not much will happen before Thursday night this week.

ok had a small issue with original idler wheels not always aligning tracks....so made an optional part that has sprocket teeth that force alignment so that tracks can not slip off wheels... included the autodest123d file for it as well as the .stl in case someone wants to modify it, also uploaded autodest123d file for tracks...figured someone might want wider ones or narrower...or something and this way it is easier to modify the basic track design.
I was ready to release the rest of the suspension for the idlers but with the redesign of the wheel comes a need to redesign the suspension. If anyone interested in me continuing to add the autodesk123d files as well please let me know, I hope anyone printing these will be willing to overlook the time between releases and the changes that I found needed.
