This is the little latch I use to replace hatch magnets in models that need to have them removed.
They are designed to have a piece of 1.75mm filament as the axis pin. Snip off a small length and then heat the end over a flame then mushroom it out, then cut to length. The other part in this design is a small holder for the pin that can be mounted into the foam to stop the pin moving and loosening over time.
