Are you setting up a Maker Space? Why buy tools when you can make many of the common tools using your new digital fabrication tools. I am actively involved in my local makerspace (www.makerspace307.org) and I know how quickly costs can add up when you are outfitting your space.
This is a simple inexpensive knife you can make using a 3D printer. Total cost is under $0.50 using filament that costs around $22.00/KG and Stanley classic utility blades (No. 1992).
I have designed the file for printing in PLA. If you print this in another material or use a different brand of blade please let me know how it worked.
Special note: The blade cover is designed for printing with a 0.40mm nozzle/extrusion width, if you have a different width you may have difficulty
Designed with Fusion 360.
