I wanted to make my own snake design, and after 3 or 4 prototypes and redesigns it's finally ready to share. Compared to some other snakes on here I checked out it's not quite as flexible but has less open space. So I think it's a good compromise between realistic and flexible.
The tail prints hollow so you need to add rattles to it during the print. I just used chopped up filament, which seems to work well. I messed with the idea of printed rattles but they just weren't loud enough. If you look through the pics you can see the rattles inside one of the blue tails. If you do add filament as your rattles don't add them too soon or your cooling fan just blows them around. fill the tail 1/4 to 1/2 full for a decent sounding rattle snake.
I've included the components to create your own length of snake so see how long you can get it. I did one that was about 34 inches. Make sure to add it to the made section.
BTW. these snakes make AWESOME bath toys for the kids. They'll float and wiggle in the turbulence of the water.
Also, this snake cannot be assembled after they are printed. you'll have to layout the components in your slicing software to get a customized length.
