Summary

A multi-raspberry pi power supply. This is rated for 4A continuous output. I've powered 2 Pi 4's and a Pi 3. Utilizes a PD trigger to get 12v from the USB, which is the most efficient input for the Pololu voltage regulator. The voltage regulator has a thermal shutdown. The fan and heatsink are probably not needed to run 2 Pi with light load.

Parts:

  • Pololu D36V28F5 - https://www.pololu.com/product/3782
The D24V50F5 can also be used but requires a 100kΩ soldered in parallel with the 3090Ω (48B) resistor to boost the output from 4.99v to 5.1v.
  • PD trigger - ZY12PDN from Ebay or Amazon programmed to default to 12v out.
  • AUKEY 36W 2-Port USB-C Charger or other USB-C PD power supply
  • M2x4mm screws
  • wire with Dupont connectors, header pins
  • 30mm fan with 2.5mm screws
  • heat sink
