The carbon boom helps elevate while the camera holder protects the pi camera. This is intended to serve as a platform for using Octoprint on a raspberry pi 2. However you can use it anywhere you need a stable pi camera mount. The camera mount pieces can be printed out separately. This would allow you to glue/embed a small magnet in the bottom so you can mount the camera on any ferrous material.
