Hi internet peoples!
Recently purchased a couple of Samsung T7 Portable SSDs...(https://www.samsung.com/au/memory-storage/portable-ssd/portable-ssd-t7-1tb-gray-mu-pc1t0t-ww/)
My word they're fast and stunning to look at. But carrying the cables and leaving them on a desk to get knocked off was annoying me.
So I searched the web for a mount to dock it to my desk and stumbled on this for the T5 version... https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3640961
Its a really pretty mount but didn't fit very well as the T5 is about 3-4mm thicker than the T7.
In the spirit of DROUGA's model. I mocked up something to look very similar so that if you need to print one and already have one for the T5. It won't look too different under/on your desk to trigger and OCD episode. I've tagged it as a remix to give credit to DROUGA for the style design, but my models here are 100% built from scratch.
It fits like a glove. The original USB-C cable fits perfectly in the clamp with a little lateral adjustment if needed.
To set the cable location, push the USB-C cable in from the bottom. Then push in a SSD and connect them securely. The drive and cable will then sit natually in the correct place and then insert the clamp and screw to a desk. It should be perfectly lined up for drive swapping.
Hope this helps others.
Cheers,
RamjetX
