Hi Internet Retro Gamers!
This is literally the silliest model I've had to create. Yet here we are....
Okay so what is it this time. If you've bought a 1up Arcade for Christmas or subbed to ETAPrime on youtube, you'd know the original sticks are crap. To find the diagonals on the stick is very hard and results in not being able to jump or perform certain moves on the Street Fighter 2 characters!
ETA recommends replacing them.... .... but I'm lazy, and cheap. And thats just what my wife say's about me... So I've come up with a simple fix as the internal actuator for the stick buttons is undersized (or the buttons are too far away)... either way. I was going to make a whole new one (which I might still do) but instead I made just a sleeve to go over the actuator.
It's a simple 6mm ring about 1.2mm thick. It makes the actuator meatier and hence makes the diagonal positions much easier to find on the stick.
I put a dab of super glue on them just to make sure they don't fall off but they were a pretty tight fit anyway.
So check out the pictures, the Red ring is what I made. It works, and honestly with this very simple mod (which you could really do with electrical tape too) made the sticks quite acceptable and I'm now able to perform hadoken's still my hearts content.
Cheers,
RamjetX
