Summary

Hi there!

So it worked out that I designed and built a Meshtastic base station for the LoRa RAKwireless board.
It's made to be rainproof, and be able to be mounted on an antenna pole.

Components that I used for this project:

*I highly recommend changing zener diode D3 on RAK motherboard to more powerful equivalent (e.g. 3W). At default there is 0,5W one.

You also need your favourite glue (I use B-7000) and bunch of screws:

  • 4x M3x10
  • 2x M3x30
  • 2x M3x6 (countersunk head; for 18650 mount)
  • 6x M3 nut

73 and see you in the mesh!

[CHANGELOG]:

  • I noticed that holes for RAK mounting (in drawer.stl) were 2.9mm idk why. They should be 2.5mm in so that the screws attached to the RAK can screw well into them. I've corrected it and uploaded corrected model. [31.05.2024]

  • I've switched from 6V/1W solar to 6V/3W 100x100mm solar. I've uploaded new tray for it (solar3W_tray.stl). [02.06.2024]
