Props to Lord_draconical. I have taken his latest version of the XShot Ragefire Chain Link and modified it slightly.
The major modifications are as follows:
I brought the model into Fusion 360 and extruded/merged the "top" 3.5mm ear/socket piece to be a completely solid piece (no more relief). I found that on the latest model of the ragefire, the original relief on the socket ear did not allow for enough tension to be held on the adjoining links ball connection, causing the printed link to essentially come apart.
I added a center guide rod similar to what is found in the original links. The original links appear to be tapered, but I chose a happy medium OD, with a radius on the top of the rod to prevent snagging or tearing of the dart.
Note that when assembled, it does take a little bit of effort to engage the balls and sockets on each side of the link. I've found that seating top or bottom first, and then hinging the other side carefully into place works well.
I made the mistake of printing one of the models at 20% infill. Don't do that, the link will likely break apart during assembly. I have found that 100% infill is a necessity with this print.
Also, make sure you utilize supports. Experiment with it a little. I can say that the "everywhere" support option within Cura is going to give you the best results, but it does result in a small exercise of cutting the part out of its cocoon.
Again, major props to Lord_draconical for loading up a very good model to start with, and for being a good sport when it comes to remixes.
