Summary

This is a case for Raxda's Rock 5B SBC. After struggling to find a nice case for it, I decided to make one myself.

Rock 5B fits nicely and even eMMC modules and NVMe SSDs can be installed. The case features plenty of holes for airflow when used with Radxa's official heatsink.

There are multiple different versions of the top and the bottom half of the case:

The top half can be printed with or without a cutout for the GPIO pins.

The bottom half comes in 3 versions:

  1. Standard: All front and rear IO of Rock 5B is accessible.
  2. No HDMI input: The front HDMI input is blocked, which might be useful when using Rock 5B as a TV box.
  3. No HDMI input and no buttons: Same as version 2, but the power and reset buttons are also hidden, thus creating a sleek look.

The case requires 4x 20mm M3 aluminium standoffs, 5x heat set M3 inserts and 4x countersunk M3 screws, which can be found here:

Inserts (4.5mm OD, 4.5 - 5mm length): https://aliexpress.com/item/1005003582355741.html
Screws (M3x10mm): https://aliexpress.com/item/4001199728978.html

Optionally an additional M3 screw can be installed near the HDMI port to prevent the board from moving or bending.
