Summary

low RPM Generator

a larger, better working Version here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1766551

Created for test purposes, a finished version is for my wind turbine
http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1718731

This version has three phases with serpentine winding but theoretically other types of windings are possible.

I used 4x4x15mm Magnets, because i had them here. 40 of these Magnets in a Halbach array arrangement.

First measurements With 50 windings (32 AWG Wire) on one Phase at about ~120 rpms:

3.8 V peak-peak, after the rectifier not enough for my application…

What you need

40x..............Magnets 4x4x15mm (Q-15-04-04-MN from Supermagnete)
1x................M8 screw or threaded rod
2x................M8 Nut
2x................608 bearing Ø22xØ8x7mm (e.g. inline skates bearings)
4-8x.............M4 screw an Nut
~1 meter......Wire per Winding (I use 32 AWG, from a microwave Transformer)

Print settings
  • 0.4mm Nozzle, 0.15 Layer, 55mm/s Speed, no infill, no support
  • I use „CURA 15.04.06“
Assembly instruction
  • see Pictures
  • You can glue M4 nuts in the "Deckel 2x.stl". But make sure that the mounting screws are not too long.
